This book should be purchased by Scam Victims to help them better understand the guilt & shame that they are experiencing from their romance scam. This workbook will help any victim better understand all the ways that self-blame can happen. Once they are identified, then you can work on removing those causes so you can let it go!
This was created by SCARS - the world leader in assisting scam victims, by author Tim McGuinness Ph.D., the Managing Director of Society of Citizens Against Relationship Scams Inc - a government registered nonprofit crime victims' assistance and crime prevention organization.
Designed for Scam Victims to Self-Assess their Trauma!
Each person is different and it is important to understand how relationship scams work and why people are vulnerable; to being scammed, how they were lured in, then groomed and manipulated. This understanding is essential in helping them through the process of ending the scam and then on to recovery. This will provide the information necessary for scam victims to better understand themselves and see their progress. We recommend that this is used together with our GREEN BOOK Self-Help Recovery Guide and our BLUE BOOK Scam Victims' Journal, and other SCARS Workbooks.
SCARS provides a large library of educational articles on all the topics of recovery from scams and the psychology of scams (on RomanceScamsNOW.com) to help victims better understand these concepts.

About This Workbook:
There are many reasons why scam victims blame themselves, why they feel guilt and shame … But just knowing that it is not your fault is not enough for everyone! Find your reasons and erase them!
Romance Scam Survivors, and most people that have experienced trauma, often feel inappropriate guilt or shame about things they did or did not do. Before you blame yourself for what happened to you read about the thinking errors that victims of trauma commonly make. Select if any apply to you. If any are familiar, then it may be necessary to adjust your thinking – there will probably be many that will.
In the sections that follow there will be questions we ask you to answer! Be bluntly truthful – some ask what you think now, some ask what was true at the time.
Your ability to separate beliefs from facts is a big part of disconnecting guilt, shame, and self-blame.
Some questions are quite complex, and your answer will reflect your views right now. We encourage you to not answer simplistically but think about what each question really means to you and in the context of your recovery. No one will see this but you, so don’t minimize or deceive yourself!
You can use your SCARS BLUE BOOK journal or additional pages if needed to expand on each question. To get a SCARS Victims’ Journal click here.
